Mayville Engineering Company held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, May 20, 2011 to celebrate the opening of their newest location in Wautoma, WI. The facility was purchased and immediately setup for manufacturing earlier this year.

Tours, Demonstrations, and discussions of the manufacturing process and products were shared. This was a great chance for employee shareholders from other locations to see the new location in Wautoma and meet the individuals dedicated to making this new facility possible. The ribbon cutting ceremony included speeches from Bob Kamphuis, Chairman, President & CEO of MEC, Wautoma Mayor Helena Waala; Wautoma City Administrator, Ryan McCue; Executive Director of the Tri-County Economic Development Corp., Bill Wheeler and Wisconsin State Representative, Joan Ballweg. “We are very happy to be in Wautoma and appreciate the warm welcome we have received from the community”, commented Kamphuis.

The Wautoma facility will be an extension to MEC’s Contract Division that is showing substantial growth for the next few years without restraint. The addition of this facility will enable MEC to accommodate our customers growing demand and bring operations back in-house that were otherwise outsourced. It will also drive MEC’s strength and efficiency.

Established in 1945, Mayville Engineering company, Inc. is employee-owned. MEC’s Contract Manufacturing and Prototype Divisions offer custom mechanical components, weldments and assemblies. MEC’s Phoenix Coaters division offers customers a full range of coating services, along with kitting, assembly and “just in time” logistical delivery services. It's great that MEC has opened it's new branch in Wisconsin. Wautoma is giving an extension to MEC which is a great idea to keep for the growth of the company and the state.
